ANNOUNCEMENT

Odessa commits $85,000 to community foundations in need

Supporting local organizations in Bangalore and Philadelphia in step with the Odessa Foundation mission

November 10, 2020

The Odessa Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on supporting education programs, today announced its continued commitment to supporting global nonprofit organizations through $85,000 in giving to Philabundance, GiveIndia, EDUCAIT, Rotary Club of Bangalore Junction, Equal Justice Initiative, Campaign Zero, and the NAACP. This comes at a crucial time for many nonprofits seeking to raise funding to support those in need through the global Coronavirus health crisis, as well as efforts to bolster commitment to diversity and inclusion in the United States and beyond.

“We’re honored to be able to support organizations that are important to our work community,” said Keelie Fitzgerald, SVP Marketing at Odessa and Odessa Foundation Board Member. “With our business being centered in both Philadelphia and Bangalore, our employees have come together to support our local communities through selfless volunteering and chipping in their own paycheck. Each member of Odessa shares the Foundation’s mission to contribute to our local communities through our global reach.”

Two years ago, Odessa launched the Odessa Foundation as an independent nonprofit organization to streamline and expand corporate giving initiatives. As part of the launch, the foundation joined Pledge 1%, a corporate philanthropy movement comprised of over 4000 leading companies across 90 countries empowering partners to donate 1% of product, equity, profit, and employee time to pressing issues around the world.

“We believe that you cannot be a leader in your industry without being a leader in your community,” said Madhu Natarajan, CEO of Odessa and Odessa Foundation Board. “The foundation’s ability to actively contribute to the richness of the communities where we operate is something we value greatly.”
