Odessa Adds John Pearce as SVP of Product to Lead ‘Everything as a Service’

Philadelphia, PA –  Banks, captives and other lenders looking to increase revenue should look to Odessa, the leading provider of technology solutions for asset finance — particularly now that it has hired John Pearce to lead its XaaS, or Everything as a Service, solutions, the company announced today.

Pearce joins Odessa from Chargebee, where, as VP of product management, he helped customers automate their subscription revenue businesses. He brings that expertise to Odessa just as the equipment finance industry turns its focus to subscriptions.

“Technology has made asset-finance subscriptions feasible,” said Odessa CEO Eric Bernstein. “John will enable banks, captives, and other finance companies to offer a wider variety of subscriptions on one Odessa platform. This will increase financiers’ connections with their customers, and thus their revenue.”

The equipment finance industry describes subscriptions as ‘XaaS’, or ‘Everything as a Service.’ In addition to leasing a basic bulldozer, for example, a company can now also get usage data in real time, telematics, and GPS data. These additions make it easier for customers to use equipment for exactly as long as they need it, and on their own terms.

Before Chargebee, Pearce held leadership positions with mHelpDesk, Epicor Software, and Smitty’s Building Supply. He will work from the greater Washington, D.C., area.
